3/29/2023 0 Comments Doubletwist not syncingPlans are in the works for a home screen widget that will control the player outside the app.ĭoubleTwist is advertising version 1.0 of its player as free for a limited time, but there's no indication at this point how much the company intends to charge. The app could also benefit from controls on the lock screen. We'd like to see a search bar, a genre category, and the ability to build an ad-hoc playlist by adding a song to the queue and subscribe to podcasts, to name a few points on our wish list. If your music library is fit to burst, expect a lengthy first sync that could take 10 minutes or so, though subsequent syncing should be speedier, especially if you're dealing with smaller media loads. When it came to performance, we found the Android player itself to be reliable, but underfeatured. One transfer worked quickly and as advertised, but the other became a source of intense and mounting frustration with incomplete and failed syncs, and even an attempt that led to a memory card error. We tested DoubleTwist's PC-to-phone syncing on two Android phones. The player then spins your picks, giving you basic controls to pause, skip, and shuffle. There are also shortcuts for synced videos and podcasts. The app lets you find songs by artist, album, title, or playlist. Then on that very same advanced tab, press the "refresh cache" and "save and rescan" buttons. As the mobile arm of the DoubleTwist media library for Mac and Windows, the DoubleTwist mobile player is tasked with syncing your music, videos, and podcasts to and from your desktop and your Android phone. Well after each sync, head into Preferences > Media Library > Portables > (Your Device Here) On portables > advanced tab, remember those two buttons named "Save and Rescan" and "Refresh Cache" ? (second picture from the bottom^^) Well here's the workaround until they fix this. For some reason it doesn't automatically update what's synced into your phone, and it wants to make duplicate files. OR- You could do what I do, and only load into the library what you plan on syncing =PĮDIT: Just noticed a small quirk, which is being worked on with the next release of Winamp. When you do it this way, it will give you the option to remove anysongs you don't have on the playlists your syncing. It will then transfer the music to your Android/PMP. You simply make playlists of the music you want, and while your Android/PMP is connected, instead of hitting sync or autofill, you find the playlist you want sync'd to your device, and right click and select Send to: (your device here) Your going to have to use playlists to sync. This will sync your media library with your Android/PMP.įAQ: But my media library is too big! How do I sync certain files? Simply select your device in the portables in the left column: Ok now in the box below it, I just put it like thisįor supported formats box, just put any formats you use in that box. If you copy and paste the above, it will sync like mine, which once again is: You can change it around however you like. Notice, all I did was specify what folder it will sync to. G:\Music\\\ <-Copy that exactly into the file format name box. It will sync toĮnter the following in the box to sync it like mine, so it does not sync your media to the root of the sdcard: Make sure you just keep the drive letter that's already there. (Keep in mind the drive letter may be different, depending on your pc. It has the blue dot next to it in the above picture. In the advanced tab, first we are going to edit the File name format box. It will then show up in the portables section as a usb mass storage device. When it asks you if you want to manage this as a portable, select yes! If it doesn't pick it up right away, just close WinAmp, and restart it. So, Like I had mentioned before, connect your Android/PMP to your computer with the sync cable, enable mass storage through the pull down menu.Īfter your computer recognizes the drive, WinAmp should pick it up and ask if this is a portable device. So if you sync without USB debugging on, make sure you do it that way every time! Also, remember which way you set this up, as going back and forth may mess things up. Make sure USB debugging is not on, unless you have the proper drivers installed. Ok now that your library is loaded up, you need to connect your Android/PMP in mass storage mode. *I also select "Rescan at startup"* <- This will keep your library updated everytime you load up Winamp! There is also a manual scan method as well.
